World Relief is committed to the highest standards of integrity in all fund raising efforts and to the ethical collection, retention and use of information about donors and donor prospects in the furtherance of our ministry. We are committed to balancing our needs to collect and record information with your right to privacy and security.

The following statement explains how we will handle information we learn about you from your visit(s) to our Web site.

When you visit our site to read or print off information...
On the World Relief Web site, we do not require you to identify yourself or reveal any personal information. We do track the number of visitors to the different sections of our site, but this is strictly the number of "hits," not details on specific visitors.

When you identify yourself by providing your name, address, telephone number, e-mail address, etc...
The only way we will obtain identifying information about you when you visit our site is if you choose to provide that information to World Relief. You choose to do so when you send us an e-mail or make a donatio

The following is excerpted from the World Relief Code of Ethics for Fund Raising and Prospect Research, which was approved by our board of directors in May 1999. This is our guarantee that we will not misuse the information you entrust to us, and that we will never rent, exchange, sell or give your name to another person or organization for their use.

  1. Non-public information (i.e. donor giving records) is the property of World Relief and shall not be given to persons other than those who are involved with the cultivation or solicitation efforts or those who need that information in the performance of their duties for World Relief.
  2. Documents containing information pertaining to donors and/or prospects will be carefully protected by World Relief, and will be irrevocably destroyed when no longer needed.
  3. Any documents containing information on donors or prospects that is used outside of World Relief offices will be clearly marked "confidential."
  4. Donor/prospect lists will only be given to persons outside World Relief for the purpose of fulfilling a specific solicitation on behalf of World Relief. Any outside source receiving World Relief's mailing list must agree to use it only for the purpose for which it is intended, and to return in a timely manner all data or medium that is not irrevocably used in the course of completing the project.
  5. World Relief's donor list will not be exchanged with, given to, sold to or rented to any other organization for its own use.

World Relief will collect any information needed to complete your transaction, receipt your gift and communicate back to you. Our site uses a securely encrypted contribution response form. Credit card numbers are used only for contribution processing and are not retained for other purposes. We will make every effort to honor any designation you state for your contribution. However, if that particular project is fully funded, we will use your donation for another project where the need is greatest.

The articles, photographs, video footage, logos, etc, you view on the World Relief web site are either the copyrighted property of World Relief or are copyrighted by another company and used with their permission. Please honor these copyrights and do not reproduce these materials without our express written permission.
